Inclisiran

Inclisiran is a medication to help lower cholesterol. It is given via injection. The first 2 injections are given 3 months apart, and then it is just 1 injection every 6 months from there onwards.

Due to the way it works, Inclisiran has very few side effects.

Inclisiran can be used on its own- this is helpful for people who have had side effects from other cholesterol lowering medications

However, it can also be used in combination with other cholesterol lowering medications- this is helpful for those whose cholesterol level is above the recommended target despite taking other cholesterol lowering medications (in this situation it is recommended to continue the current medication and take it along side the Inclisiran).
